DNC-Democratic National Convention 2008!

As you all know the Democratic National Convention is going on this week. I watched the speeches on Monday night and thought everyone did a great job, especially Michelle Obama. Of course the next day, some people had negative things to say but overall I heard positive things. Why is it that people can't see the Democratic nominee as a man who's educated, handsome, charismatic and have a vision and great plans for our country (which is how it would be viewed if he were white), but instead he's seen as the "black" man who's all of the above descriptives. It's unfortunate that after all these years, we still can't get past the racism in this country. It shouldn't matter what color a person is, if they're qualified that should be enough. I've heard how many of Hillary Clinton's supporters would rather vote for McCain just so they wouldn't have to vote for Obama; this is the most ignorant statement I have heard. The sad part is that a lot of Hillary's supporters are women, yet McCain is ready to do away with the way what every woman should have a right to decide what happens with her body(he's anti pro-choice). It definitely should not be governments' decision if a woman can receive and abortion or not. Not only that, but McCain says we should continue with the War, yet our economy is suffering partly due to the excessive cost of the War. If we continue down this path and McCain is voted in, expect the recession to continue and get worse. Haven't we had enough of the Bush Administration policies that McCain will only continue? Instead of Hillary's supporters saying I'm going to vote for McCain, they need to be thinking what will happen if I vote for McCain? Can our country handle another 4 (possibly 8) years of a recession? PEOPLE GET OVER THE RACISM CRAP ALREADY! We need to focus on the bigger issues on hand such as health care, education, jobs in our country, and civil rights among so much more.

Hair Care Products I Love

I recently used the new product by Luster that everyone woman of color should know about. It's called Luster's Renutrients Slick Stick; this is a great alternative to gel which makes your hair hard and dry. Luster's Slick Stick keeps your hair shiny, slick and won't dry it out. It's also great to use it to touch-up those edges until you make it to the beauty shop.

Great Read!

I recently read the first book of the new series by Mary B. Morrison (a.k.a Honey B) called Sexcapades. This book was funny, sad, and romantic/sexual. It was about a successful woman and man who worked for the same corporate office and were competing for a huge promotion. Not only were the two main characters competing for the same promotion, but they were also lovers. Through the competition of Nick and Natalie, there was plenty of things going on in both of their lives but you must read to find out what happens. The book was good, but it is for adults only! If you are under 18, you should not read this. I can't wait until the next one from this new series from Honey B!
